Celebration Evenings

MASt and Gifted & Talented Celebration Evening

Every summer term we celebrate the achievements of More Able, Gifted and Talented students with our MASt and Gifted & Talented Celebration Evening for the families of MASt and G&T students. We showcase some of the excellent work done by our MASt and G&T students throughout the year.

Parental Feedback:

The evening was informative on what was expected from the students. Thank you.

It was lovely to have the opportunity to meet teachers face to face and to find out a bit more about what students can be involved in in the future.

It was lovely to see the work done by pupils and hear from the very talented music students.

I am grateful for the time and effort involved in putting on this evening.

We enjoyed it and took the opportunity to show our daughter the non-core curriculum activities available.

I thought it was wonderful. A real treat to see so many of the amazing things that the pupils are achieving, and to have meaningful conversations with so many teachers. Thank you so much!

What a fabulous event. So many talented kids.

It was a lovely evening and a great chance to talk to each department and see what they do and offer to extend learning. All staff and student helpers were really knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Thank you SJL.

Thank you very much for organising the MASt evening. We really do appreciate the amount of work that went into it, plus the focus on more able children to ensure they are also able to stretch themselves. My son is on the MASt register and also G&T for music and maths, so we came with that context.  It was really nice to have the music outside – both for my son to have the opportunity to perform and to hear all the other great musicians in the school. I think it’s great that something is organised for more able children in this way. Thanks again.

I found it useful to see the books of other children on display and see as aspirational the high level of work being achieved.

Thank you - it was beautifully hosted and I was delighted for the students to have their talents noticed and celebrated, and for parents to be able to share in this & think about how to nurture those talents - thank you, we really enjoyed seeing you all.

It was great to see all of the work being done by the MASt students and giving them an opportunity to showcase that. I think it was a great event and we’ll put together.

We enjoyed the open evening and found it particularly useful to chat to older students about what to expect next year (in Year 8) in particular subjects. Thank you.

It is lovely to see all the school has to offer and some of the great work the kids are doing.

It was a lovely event and we were very proud to see our son being nominated for the gifted & talented register. Thank you to the school for providing such pupils incredible opportunities to flourish further with their talents.

It was an excellent evening. The teaching staff and students running the evening were friendly and welcoming, and the standard of work on display was high. I liked the informality of the approach, which created a sense of warmth, and your student leadership team was a credit to you.

Thank you for a great opportunity for my daughter to perform with the music department. My youngest enjoyed the refreshments too!

It was a lovely way to for the children to show off their work. My son was reluctant to go initially but enjoyed the event, I think it gave him a little confidence boost too. Thank you.

What I did see (mostly artwork) was very impressive. Thank you to all involved in putting on this event.

It was lovely to hear the musicians play, and a great opportunity for my daughter to do her first solo.

We did not need to attend as our child is in Year 12, however we decided to do so as we are new to the school and our child is G&T and was helping out at the event. This was the first event where we were given the opportunity to see the wider community and children from other year groups, we were impressed with the event and all who attended.

It was a great opportunity to meet my daughters teachers face to face and discuss what they have been learning about and what further options could be.

Good to be back in a school setting with a buzzy atmosphere!

Great selection of teachers and students to pick the brains of.

Enjoyed the music, great to see the teachers and have the opportunity to chat.

It was very well organised and a great idea.

Really enjoyed this event. I spoke to many of the stall holders who were excited to share about their learning. I was impressed at the confidence and poise of the young people representing their subjects. The musical event outside was relaxed and enjoyable. Many thanks.

Really enjoyed the evening and was great to see examples of work.

I welcomed the opportunity to attend an event of the school. I loved the music and the art displays/demos were excellent. It did provoke good discussions with my child about enrichment so I’m glad we went.

We all enjoyed the open evening, it was great atmosphere, thank you for organizing such a great event!

We attended the previous event and thought it was a really lovely way of showcasing the students’ talent and ability.
