UK Go Challenge School Champions
Posted on 16/10/2019On Sunday, 13 October 2019, a team from SJL and Harpenden Academy travelled to Cambridge to take part in the UK Go Challenge and the National Small Board championship. Congratulations go to the SJL team who won and are now UK Go Challenge School Champions! A fantastic achievement! They beat players from schools in Oxford, Cambridge, London, Letchworth and Epsom.
Congratulations also to Harpenden Academy who also won to become UK Go Challenge Primary School Champions. It was a tight finish as SJL beat HA in the final for the overall title by half a point! SJL beat City of London School in the semi-final and HA beat Ilford School in the other semi. All results in each round were 2-1.
Looking further ahead, the National Youth Championships are on 30 November in Rugby, and we hope for further success there. It's the main youth event of the year with national awards for all ages, categories and primary and secondary school team championships.
