Food Technology Room Refurb
Posted on 25/03/2022Pupils at a Sir John Lawes School will now benefit from state-of-the-art facilities following the completion of a refurbishment of the food technology room. Sir John Lawes School is a secondary school, in the heart of Harpenden, with 1300+ pupils aged between the ages of 11-18.
Sir John Lawes School celebrated the opening of its newly refurbished food technology room, which was designed by Envoplan. The refurbished teaching room will allow for more effective practical teaching in support of the design and technology curriculum, allowing students to engage their curiosity and enjoyment of food and nutrition.
The refurbishment was funded by the school and supported with funding from Savoy Education Trust.
Nick Wilkinson, Head of Design and Technology at Sir John Lawes School said “Thank you so much to the Savoy Education Trust for part funding our fantastic new Food Room. We are delighted to be able to provide students with such superb new facilities to enrich their educational experience and support the delivery of our exciting Food & Nutrition curriculum.”
Chief Executive Officer for Scholars’ Education Trust Claire Robins OBE commended the new facilities: “We are delighted to be able to offer the latest facilities for our students and to enhance student learning in Food and Nutrition. We are immensely grateful to Savoy Education Trust for their investment in our school which will enable us to provide the very best educational experience for all our young people.”
The Food Technology Room will be officially opened by Theo Michaels on Friday 22 April 2022.
